Brother
A male sibling.
Min bror er tre år ældre end mig.
My brother is three years older than me.
'Bror' is derived from the Old Norse 'bróðir', which shares roots with the Proto-Germanic '*broþar' and the Proto-Indo-European '*bhrāter'. The term reflects the deep-seated cultural significance of brotherhood in Viking and later Nordic societies.
'Bror' is used informally in both speech and writing, widely across Denmark. It appears frequently in familial and social contexts and can also be used colloquially among friends.
